Backstage Coffee at OSF

Are any of you Premier Members at OSF? If so, make sure to take advantage of some of the amazing opportunities coming up while you’re in town this season! Check out some of these wonderful events by clicking on the link here: http://www.osfashland.org/give-and-join/individuals/membership/member-events.aspx

Last weekend we got to have coffee and taste local chocolates with Rex Young interviewing Kate Hurster at a premier member event. This lovely actress and dear friend of ours here at Anne Hathaway’s is now in her 5th season at OSF, and is currently playing Ariel in the Tempest, which opened just a few weeks ago in the Bowmer theater.

Who knew that this talented young actress actually studied Pre-Med in college? She spent a lot of time working in a lab by day and committing herself to local theater by night until eventually (spoiler alert!), her love for the stage got the best of her. We don’t want to give too much away before you have a chance to see this stunning production, but Kate gave us some great insight for her preparations in playing Ariel this season, including some voice work and training to help make Ariel sound as uniquely un-human as possible. This busy actress will also be appearing as Mrs. Murrey in A Wrinkle in Time as well as Lady Anne in Richard III – both opening later this season. Yikes! That’s over 200 performances! Which ones are you looking forward to seeing? We hope to see you at some more member events throughout the season!             — Vieve Harding

We just want to begin our annual conversation with you. We are starting to think of timing for this summer, and are wondering what, if anything, is available the first half of July. I (Dick) now need a walker, so I must consider access and a minimum number of steps. I hope we can still work something out. Look forward to hearing from you.
