“We aim to be as green as we can be.” At Anne Hathaway’s we are committed to greener business practices that promote the sustainability of our planet’s natural resources with the highest concern for our guest’s comfort and well being. We are a certified green lodging property by the Oregon Bed and Breakfast Guild. This program has been developed through a partnership with Sustainable Travel International.

Here are few things we do to be green:

  • Buy local when possible
  • Use reusable grocery bags for shopping
  • Feature Emz Blends all natural and local shower gel, shampoo, hand soap and lotion
  • Each room is supplied with refillable shampoo, shower gel, hand soap and lotion containers to reduce waste
  • Environmentally friendly cleaning products are used
  • We use front-loading washing machines to save water
  • Anne Hathaway's Cottage and Garden SuitesSheets are hung on the line to air dry
  • We encourage guests to reuse towels
  • Hot water heater is on-demand
  • Lights bulbs are florescent or CFL
  • We use email to conduct business as much as possible
  • When printing, we use both sides of the paper and recycle it
  • Lights are turned off when not in use.
  • Rooms have ceiling fans to reduce the use of air conditioners
  • Items are donated to a local charity to be reused
  • The owner, David Runkel, is a former member of the Conservation Commission
